Anthony Ian Michaelson

Senior Software Architect & Technical Founder
Anthony is a senior software architect and technical founder with more than twenty years of turning AI, automation, and distributed systems into measurable business outcomes — ML systems tied to $27M in new revenue, automation managing 100K+ devices, and decentralized economic protocols spanning a fully audited stablecoin and a token-mediated barter economy. His career began as a U.S. Army Warrant Officer, earning a Bronze Star deploying tactical communications across Afghanistan under combat conditions. Since then he has led engineering at every scale — from founding and architecting startups solo to Fortune 500 enterprise AI deployments — pairing rare depth in economic mechanism design with executive judgment on the decisions that move revenue, margin, and reliability.

Chapter V — The AI Era

The LLM era changed what a single architect can ship. In one stretch I delivered a municipal AI platform under contract, rebuilt Masterypath from the ground up as an AI-native product, and co-founded Tekel to bring a token-mediated barter economy to market — three production systems, one engineer, near-zero fixed infrastructure.
Tekel Inc.2025 – Present · Las Vegas, NV
Co-Founder & CTOCo-founded a protocol and marketplace for equitable barter-based commerce: trade imbalances settled with a utility token priced by an oracle built from in-network trade data.
  • Designed the protocol's economic architecture — oracle-driven price discovery, token minting against value imbalances, debt and credit limits with default mechanics, and a non-inflationary treasury funded by transaction fees.
  • Built the marketplace end to end: escrowed payments, multi-party dispute resolution, milestone and time-and-materials billing, and five fulfillment models on an edge-native platform.
  • Operated as a one-person engineering org via schema-to-API codegen and a shared SDK across web, iOS, Android, merchant, and admin surfaces — automated quality gates and staged releases at near-zero fixed infrastructure cost.
Masterypath LLC2025 – Present · Las Vegas, NV
FounderRelaunched Masterypath as an AI-native product — a ground-up rewrite of the 2020 platform structuring knowledge as hierarchical mind maps reinforced with spaced-repetition training.
  • Rearchitected end to end for the AI era: replaced the original Kubernetes/microservices stack with a serverless edge architecture, eliminating nearly all fixed infrastructure cost — retiring the original design when the economics no longer justified it.
  • Made AI a content-creation engine, not a chat feature: organization-scoped agents with private knowledge bases, retrieval-augmented answers with source attribution, and pipelines turning raw PDFs into structured learning material and auto-generated flashcards.
  • Built the interactive mind-mapping engine as a standalone, published library with its own release pipeline — separating the visualization engine from product logic.
CityFront.ai — AskEcho AI Platform2025 · Las Vegas, NV
Principal Engineer (Contract)Architected and built CityFront's core offering end to end: a multi-tenant RAG platform for white-label AI assistants answering citizen questions from municipal websites and documents.
  • Designed the full retrieval architecture — automated ingestion, semantic chunking and embedding, vector search with source attribution, streaming LLM responses, and a debug pipeline tracing every answer to its sources.
  • Extended beyond Q&A into transactional automation: a function-calling agent filing 311-style service requests conversationally, with per-tenant municipal integrations and configurable autonomy from full automation to human confirmation.
  • Engineered for SaaS economics: tenant isolation at every layer, per-tenant token budgets and rate limiting, and operator admin tooling so non-engineers can onboard and manage deployments.

Chapter IV — The Leap

After my corporate tenure I returned to founding: first Masterypath, a learning platform for homeschoolers, then recruited into Lucra Finance to architect a decentralized stablecoin on Solana. Eighteen months of research, protocol mathematics, and rigorous testing culminated in fully audited contracts despite challenging market conditions.
Lucra Finance2021 – 2023 · Buenos Aires
Co-Founder
  • Co-founded a five-person Solana team building a 300% collateralized, fully decentralized stablecoin with no liquidation of customer collateral.
  • Architected custom on-chain oracle, bond, and lending systems with protocol-driven arbitrage for peg enforcement.
  • Delivered audited contracts (Neodyme), Solana Rust programs, TypeScript/React UI, Web3 SDK, and CLI tooling.
Masterypath LLC2020 – 2021 · Las Vegas, NV
Founder
  • Bunker Labs-sponsored solo startup for homeschoolers: hierarchical mind maps plus spaced-repetition flashcard sequencing for long-term retention.
  • Built Scala/Play backend with schema and TypeScript REST API codegen; React/TypeScript UI with separate adult and student experiences.
  • Ran full Kubernetes platform on DigitalOcean — PostgreSQL HA, RabbitMQ, microservices, and GitLab CI/CD to staging and production.

Chapter III — Force Multiplier

After military service, I turned my engineering toward automation and AI at enterprise scale. At IPsoft I built IPncm, a configuration platform that peaked at 200,000+ network devicesunder management. At Cisco I helped raise autonomic remediation to nearly 80%, saving $8.8M annually; at Amelia's Special Operations team I built ML systems contributing to $27M in new revenue and configuration management that scaled operations for clients like The Home Depot.
Amelia Inc.2014 – 2020 · Austin, TX
Senior Developer → Senior Special Operations Architect
  • At a global enterprise conversational AI leader, engineered configuration management at scale — 4 FTEs managing 30K devices for Home Depot, 12 FTEs for 70K+ devices across other Fortune 500 clients.
  • Built Python/scikit-learn ML classification for client event analysis, contributing to $27M in new sales and stronger SOWs and contracts.
  • Led a multi-threaded configuration system across 100K+ production devices; managed engineers through hiring, reviews, and delivery of automation POCs and API integrations across AWS, GCP, and on-prem.
  • At IPsoft (Amelia predecessor): designed and built IPncm — large-scale network configuration management that met a 4-hour IOS upgrade SOW across 30,000+ devices, peaked at 200,000+ devices under management over nine years, and anchored a $75M annual managed services contract. Also drove 54.67% autonomic incident resolution across 120K+ incidents and change-management architecture yielding 1,613% more device throughput.
Cisco Systems2012 – 2014 · Austin, TX
Automation Engineering Team Lead
  • Led ten engineers in the Automation Center of Excellence for Cisco Remote Operations, producing thousands of customer automations.
  • Achieved 79.47% annual autonomic remediation across 378,822 incidents — 74K FTE hours saved and ~$8.8M annually.
  • Built syslog correlation middleware for Cisco's data center offering and a PSIRT security auditing framework across Cisco RMS.

Chapter II — Battle Tested

Rising at the fastest pace in Nevada history, I became a Warrant Officer in the Army Signal Corps with authority over $1B+ in technical assets supporting 25K combat soldiers. In Afghanistan I led tactical communications across 150+ sites and shipped custom IP management software under sustained fire — 186 rocket attacks — earning a Bronze Star Medal.
